Upper Makefield Township Tax Collector

Melissa Carpenter is a proud resident of Upper Makefield Township, where she and her family have lived for the past seven years. A graduate of Princeton University, she was born and raised in Bucks County and is thrilled to have settled in Upper Makefield. A wife and a proud mother of four, Melissa has spent the majority of her life supporting her family as a military spouse, a role she’s held for 25 years.

In addition to her devotion to family life, Melissa was a small business owner and corporate leader with extensive experience in business development and nonprofit work. Over the years, she has honed her skills in finance, management, and relationship-building. Melissa currently serves on Upper Makefield Township’s Parks and Recreation Volunteer Board, gaining valuable experience with local government operations and community initiatives. Melissa’s passion for service and her vision for efficient, accessible systems that benefit the community, drives her to run for office.

Melissa believes that the tax collection process should be clear, efficient, and fair for all residents. If elected, she is committed to improving communication, and providing the highest level of service to the residents of Upper Makefield Township. Melissa’s goal is to bring integrity, and a customer-first approach to the Tax Collector’s office. She believes in seeking new technological solutions to streamline processes. 

Melissa has served as a fundraiser and volunteer for her children’s  multiple sports teams over the years. Melissa's active involvement in youth sports has firmly established her connection to the community, allowing her to build lasting relationships and understand the values that make Upper Makefield such a special place to live.

Outside of her professional and family life, Melissa is an avid reader and enjoys practicing Pilates.

With her strong background in business, her passion for serving others, and her deep connection to the community, Melissa is ready to work for the residents of Upper Makefield and contribute to the continued success of the township.
